Marian University is partnering with Indianapolis-based marketing company Vontoo Inc. to use its services over the next year. School officials will help create and deploy voice, video and text messaging for several of their departments. Marian hopes the collaboration will increase fundraising, reduce costs and improve student and alumni communications. Both are making undisclosed cash investments in the relationship.
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – November 11, 2009 – Vontoo, Inc., leading voice marketing company, announced today a collaborative agreement with Marian University of Indianapolis whereby the university will leverage Vontoo’s services, on an unlimited basis, throughout the course of the next year.
Working side-by-side with Vontoo engineers, Marian University officials will help create and deploy effective voice, video and text messaging for their admissions, finance, alumni, fundraising, athletics and campus security departments.
“We have never seen marketing technology this advanced and this powerful; there’s nothing like it on the market today,” commented Daniel J. Elsener, president of Marian University. Vontoo is a technology that will help the university ‘cut through the clutter’ and separate our messages from those of our competitors. Ultimately, the most brilliant, clever, and creative message can be lost if the delivery mechanism isn’t able to carry it to the intended target. We believe Vontoo can do this for us.”
Vontoo Founder and CEO Bob Compton sees the partnership as very telling. “Successful institutions of higher education in the 21st century are likely to be schools like Marian,” said Compton. “These types of colleges will flourish because they are small, entrepreneurial, nimble, decisive and willing to adopt new technologies to enhance education and lower cost. Many state-funded institutions will struggle, as they’re hampered by huge staffs, bogged down by bureaucracy and face ‘deer-in-the-headlights’ budget cuts.”
The collaborative agreement between Vontoo and Marian University began on October 1, 2009 and will continue for one year. Both parties are making cash investments in the relationship.
